Forest Therapy
What is Forest Therapy?
Forest therapy is rooted in the Japanese practice of ShinRin Yoku, also know as “Forest Bathing”. It began in the 1980s due to a rise in stress related conditions from high stress work environments. This meditative practice unfolds by immersing yourself in the forest, using all your senses to connect deeply with nature. Evidence based research validates the health benefits to promote healing and wellness.

Yoga therapies are holistic mind-body lifestyle practices that focus on body awareness, breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, and energy therapies. With the goal to create peace, reflective insights, and relaxation, each modality offers holistic self care tools to create wellness.
The healing power of yoga feeds my passion to share specific forms of yoga to meet the needs of my clients. Whether Integral, Aerial, Chair, Aqua, or Restorative Yoga, step into this ancient practice of asana, breath, and flow to experience calm, peace, and balance!

Each teaching includes:
- Yoga postures (asanas)to increase body awareness, increase strength and flexibility, and balance the neuro-endocrine system.
- Breathwork (pranayama) to improve lung capacity, increase oxygenation, improve mental focus, and stimulate energy
- Mantras and/or music to support flow and relaxation.
- Deep relaxation to access inner peace and calmness.
- Meditation to expand the practice of focused thought and peaceful mind.
- Gentle movement to balance energy and increase body awareness

What is Meditation?
Meditation teaches the body and mind to let go of thoughts and tune inward to harness inner strength, intuition, and energy.
Research studies show that when we are in a relaxed state of mind, we are capable of intense healing and growth. Brainwave activity and biochemistry shift to re- wire our neural pathways to be focused, attentive, and intuitive.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is being fully present, using all your senses, in a state a non-judgment. It is the beauty of letting go of the past and not worrying about the future… just focus on NOW. With our tendency to be caught up in inner dialogue, mindfulness invites a dynamic, vivid world view in the present moment which decreases stress.
